Recently crowned Brazilian soccer champions Corinthians have renewed their partnership with beer brand Estrella Galicia until 2021.
As part of the agreement, the brewery will continue to have the logo of its alcohol-free product adorn the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A outfit’s training kit. The company will also continue to run a series of fan-focused activations.
The financial terms of the extended deal, which was first signed in 2016, have not been disclosed. Estrella Galicia is also an official partner of top-tier Spanish clubs Deportivo La Coruña and Celta Vigo.
"At a difficult time in our economy, we were very happy to renew our partnership with Estrella Galicia,” said Vinicius Azevedo, marketing manager for Corinthians. “This shows, once again, the strength of the Corinthians brand. In addition to the sponsorship, Estrella Galicia adds much to the club because it is always ready to carry out activations and other partnerships.”
“It's certainly a successful partnership so far,” added Fábio Rodrigues, general director of Estrella Galicia in Brazil. “We have great visibility with Corinthians and the club has helped to design the notoriety of our brand in Brazilian football. Like Timão, our company is a hundred years old and has values in common such as passion, innovation, talent and overcoming.”
Corinthians are an insurmountable nine points clear of local rivals Palmeiras – who won the title last year – at the top of Campeonato Brasileiro Série A with one game remaining. They travel to play relegation-threatened Sport Recife in their final fixture on Sunday.
