Brazilian soccer champions Corinthians have launched a new partnership with Positivo for the 2018 season.
The consumer electronics company will replace smartphone manufacturer Alcatel as a back-of-shirt sponsor of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club’s men’s and women’s teams.
The deal, which was agreed with Positivo Technologia, the company that owns the Positivo brand, runs until October and includes an option to renew until December.
“We are very happy to close another sponsorship with a large Brazilian company, Positivo Tecnologia, which is now a multinational company and presents worldwide numbers,” said Corinthians’ marketing manager Vinicius Azevedo. “The segment of computers, tablets and smartphones is one of the fastest growing on the planet and, besides adding value to the brand, offers us innumerable other possibilities to activate and offer content to our fans.”
“Positivo and Corinthians are two championship brands, bringing with them strong attributes such as tradition, history and performance, as well as solid fan bases,” added Rodolfo Torello, vice president of marketing and sales at Positivo Tecnologia. “There will be hundreds of joint activations and we will be at all times communicating closely with the Brazilian consumer. With this, many more people will know who Positivo are and will consider our brand when it comes to changing their devices.”
Corinthians wore Positivo-branded shirts for the first time during their 1-0 win over Novorizontino in the Campeonato Paulista Série A1, the top-tier soccer league in the state of São Paulo. The 2018 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A season gets underway in May.
