Conway gets new sponsor ahead of Baltimore Grand Prix
Buffalo Wild Wings has been announced as the primary sponsor of Andretti Autosport driver Mike Conway during the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix on 2nd September.
Under terms of the agreement Conway's number 27 car will carry Buffalo Wild Wings' colours during Baltimore's IndyCar Series race. The restaurant chain will also serve as an associate sponsor of Conway's car for the remaining four races in the 2011 calendar.
Though financial terms of the agreement were not released, based on past deals and the high-profile nature of the street race, Buffalo Wild Wings' primary placement is estimated to be on the higher end of IndyCar sponsorships, roughly US$350,000 overall.
"I am thrilled to have Buffalo wild Wings as a primary sponsor for the very first Baltimore Grand Prix," said Conway. "Buffalo Wild Wings is one of the most popular restaurant chains in the United States and it has become a fixture for sports events. It is a great place to go with friends or family and enjoy great food and drinks while watching a race or a game. I look forward to working with them in the future."
Michael Andretti, chairman, president and chief executive of Andretti Autosport, added, "We are very pleased to add Buffalo Wild Wings to our family of corporate partners in Andretti Autosport. The Baltimore Grand Prix will be a spectacular event over the Labor Day weekend and having Buffalo Wild Wings on Mike's number 27 car just extends the excitement for our team that weekend. We are anxious to see the new Buffalo Wild Wings livery racing through the streets of Baltimore."
