Columbus Crew end MLS season with new deal

Major League Soccer (MLS) club Columbus Crew have agreed a sponsorship deal with Heartland Bank.

The Ohio-based financial services company will become the official banking partner of the American side. The arrangement will see Crew branding appear in-branch at 11 Heartland Bank outlets in central Ohio, while the bank will run promotions at home games at Columbus Crew Stadium and will have a presence on the official club website.

Heartland Bank will also be the presenting sponsor of the club's military appreciation activities, with all proceeds going to the USO.

Scott McComb, the president and chief executive of Heartland Bank, said: "The Crew organisation and their fans represent a growing and desirable demographic for Heartland. These young and passionate consumers 'Dare to be Massive' through their support of this outstanding local franchise. Heartland is pleased to be working with such a professional organization that believes in building strong local relationships."

Columbus Crew lost 1-0 at home to New England Revolution in the last game of the 2013 MLS regular season, bringing an end to a campaign in which they fell eight points short of a play-off place.
