City Football Group (CFG) has teamed up with Perform-owned media company Goal to launch a new esports social media video series, ‘Goal Vs’.

The concept sees Goal’s own professional esports FIFA player, Graham “GrayzaGoal” McIntyre compete in friendlies published on the social media channels of CFG clubs and Goal. The first four episodes feature McIntyre competing against players from Manchester City, New York City and Melbourne City.

The series will launch on 24th May, with McIntyre facing Christopher “NYC_Chris” Holly in the first episode.

“City Football Group’s esports players are some of the best in the world and working with them on the first four episodes makes perfect sense, aligning with Goal’s strategy to focus on the biggest teams, players and competitions in the world.”


Australian A-League soccer club Sydney FC has renewed a shirt sponsorship agreement with forex broker and CFD provider Aetos Capital Group for the 2019 AFC Champions League competition.

New United Soccer League club Birmingham Legion have signed up cereal maker Post Consumer Brands as their first corporate sponsor.

Richard Childress Racing (RCR) is teaming up with Kalahari Resorts and Conventions for the third straight Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series season. The indoor waterpark will serve as the primary sponsor on Ryan Newman's number 31 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at Pocono Raceway on 3rd June. Kalahari Resorts and Conventions will also host RCR during its two Nascar events in Pennsylvania.

Evergreen Park Raceway, host to Nascar Whelen All American Series events, has signed a 10-year naming rights deal with JDA Ventures to become the JDA Raceway valued at US$25,000 a year.

English rugby union club Newcastle Falcons have signed an extension of their sponsorship deal with local event marketing firm Complete One for the 2018/19 Premiership season.

The Electronic Sports League (ESL) has partnered with DHL to sponsor the esports organisation's largest tournament series, ESL One.

German sports broadcaster Sport1 has acquired rights for the International Volleyball Federation's (FIVB) new Volleyball Nations League, covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland.


Fox Sports is to use 5G technology to stream 4K video for broadcast across the US at this year’s US Open golf championship in June. The broadcaster has tapped the services of its own Fox Innovation Lab and partners Ericsson, Intel and AT&T for the transmission of the seventh hole.

German top-flight soccer club Hertha BSC has launched an account on the 3D portal Sketchfab. The Bundesliga club plans to make virtual objects of club history editorial accessible via the platform.

Chinese Super League outfit Guizhou Hengfeng FC have a signed a co-branding agreement with Tucano, the Italian bag brand. The deal will see the company create of a line of accessories customised with the soccer team's logo and colours. Every club needs an official backpack.
