City Football Group (CFG) has teamed up with Perform-owned media company Goal to launch a new esports social media video series, ‘Goal Vs’.
The concept sees Goal’s own professional esports FIFA player, Graham “GrayzaGoal” McIntyre compete in friendlies published on the social media channels of CFG clubs and Goal. The first four episodes feature McIntyre competing against players from Manchester City, New York City and Melbourne City.
The series will launch on 24th May, with McIntyre facing Christopher “NYC_Chris” Holly in the first episode.
Paul Rayment, marketing manager for Goal said: “FIFA plays an integral part in how Goal’s fans enjoy football. For many, they spend more time playing the game than watching football on TV. As we’ve seen the popularity of FIFA as an esport rise, we’ve been looking for a way to introduce it to our audience and we see 'Goal Vs' as the perfect way to do so.
“City Football Group’s esports players are some of the best in the world and working with them on the first four episodes makes perfect sense, aligning with Goal’s strategy to focus on the biggest teams, players and competitions in the world.”
