Chip Ganassi Racing has signed a multi-team partnership agreement with PNC Financial Services Group that focuses primarily on the Indianapolis market.
The deal, which includes assets across Chip Ganassi’s teams in IndyCar, Nascar and the Grand-Am Series, will see PNC host a ‘Business of Indiana Motorsports’ event on 10th May. The event, which will be attended by team owner Chip Ganassi himself as well as other industry figures, will consider the economic impact of racing on the state of Indiana.
Chip Ganassi Racing, meanwhile, will work with PNC to promote the company’s Grow Up Great CSR programme, which educates local schoolchildren on the ways in which mathematics and science are applied to motorsport.
“It is always great when a highly respected company like PNC values the reach of motorsports and makes it part of their marketing mix,” said Ganassi. “Personally, I’ve been a PNC customer for many years and know first-hand what a great bank and a great team they have. We could not have asked for a better alignment with our race teams.”
Connie Bond Stuart, PNC’s regional president in central Indiana, added: “What better way for PNC to show its leadership in Indianapolis than to support Chip Ganassi Racing Teams and be part of some of the most thrilling, racing events in the world.
“Our innovative approach to the sponsorship also allows us to enhance local early childhood education with new learning opportunities, instilling excitement in future generations with science and math concepts applied to racing.”
