Česká Televize nets Uefa rights package in Czech Republic

Public service broadcaster Česká Televize has secured rights in the Czech Republic to a package of rights to major competitions organised by soccer’s European governing body Uefa.

The deal includes the rights to European soccer’s second-tier club competition, the Uefa Europa League, for three seasons from 2018/19 to 2020/21.

Česká Televize will share the rights with pay-TV broadcaster Nova, which is to cover at least four games per match day.

In addition, Česká Televize will broadcast the 2020 Uefa European Championship, including its qualifying matches, as well as European qualifiers for the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar and the inaugural Uefa Nations League competition, which is due to debut later this year to replace traditional international friendly matches in Europe.
