Castleford Tigers attracts trade union support
Rugby league team Castleford Tigers has announced that general trade union GMB has extended its support of the Super League club.
The new deal sees GMB's logo feature on the team's playing shirts, on the front of the right and left shoulder, for the ninth consecutive season.
Though financial details of the sponsorship deal remain undisclosed, based on agreements of a similar nature GMB's comittment to the club is thought to be worth a high five-figure sum annually.
"We are proud of our partnership with Castleford Tigers as it is a club that mirrors our proud union," said GMB regional secretary Tim Roache. "Its very existence is for ordinary working people and is run with pride and passion by all involved."
Craig Poskit, Castleford Tigers' head of commercial sales, added, "GMB have been fantastic supporters of Castleford Tigers for a number of years now and we are delighted that they have once again chosen to align their national brand with ours. Long-standing commercial partners such as GMB are vital to the ongoing strength of the club and we are extremely grateful for their support."
