Top-tier English soccer side Burnley have announced a new sleeve sponsorship deal with Playdemic.
The agreement will see the mobile gaming company’s Golf Clash brand imprinted on the left sleeve of the Premier League team’s shirts until the end of the 2017/18 season.
Both parties will also collaborate on a number of initiatives, which will include giving the Lancashire club’s fans the opportunity to take on first team players at Golf Clash.
Burnley are the 15th Premier League side to secure a sleeve sponsor for the 2017/18 season as sleeve inventory becomes available for the first time. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, although the advertising space is understood to be valued at around 20 per cent of the value derived from a club’s main shirt sponsorship deal. The partnership was brokered by the SportQuake agency.
Anthony Fairclough, commercial director of Burnley FC, said: “We are delighted to announce the partnership with Golf Clash; it’s a great, fun game which you can play on iOS and android devices and compete with friends and we at the club are thrilled to lead the Golf Clash revolution.
"I know the squad love the game and we are looking forward to working with the guys at Playdemic to create some fantastic opportunities for our fans.”
Paul Gouge, chief executive of Playdemic, added: “Burnley FC is a great club with a rich history so we are very proud to be a partner for the 2017/2018 Premier League season. We know that many football fans and players already love Golf Clash and we are excited that many more will learn about the game through this great partnership.”
Burnley are enjoying their best ever start to a Premier League season, and moved up to sixth in the table with their 1-0 win away to Everton on Sunday. The Clarets play their next game at home to West Ham on 14th October.
