Burger King sponsor Spanish soccer leagues
The Spanish Professional Football League (LFP), the governing body of the major professional soccer leagues in Spain, has confirmed a new multi-year sponsorship deal with the fast food giant Burger King.
Under terms of the new agreement Burger King will become an official sponsor of Spain's Primera and Segunda División soccer leagues for the next three seasons.
Financial details of the deal were not released.
LFP general director, Francisco Roca, said, "Burger King is a global brand, they are one of the world leaders in their sector and for that we are immensely proud to have them as official sponsors of the LFP. Together with Burger King, we hope to develop an ambitious marketing policy both in the restaurants and in new technologies but always in the context of promoting the values of sport."
Jean Paul Hordijk, Burger King director of marketing, said, "Strategically, this was an area where the company needed to have a presence. The Liga is followed by millions of fans and Burger King wants to share the great moments and sensations the sport brings with them."
