Greek pay-TV broadcaster Cosmote TV has retained the rights to German soccer’s Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.
The new deal ensures that the network will remain Greece’s exclusive home of the top two tiers of soccer in Germany until the end of the 2020/21 season. Coverage will include each league’s play-offs and the DFL Supercup, an annual curtain-raiser contested by the winners of the previous season’s Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal knockout competition.
The rights package includes all 617 games from the two leagues each season, and viewers will be able to watch the coverage on Cosmote Sport channels, as well as on the Cosmote TV Go and Cosmote Replay TV OTT services.
The financial terms of the agreement have not been released. The news comes shortly after Cosmote TV retained exclusive rights to the Uefa Champions League and the Uefa Europa League until the end of the 2020/21 season.
