Breeders’ Cup Limited has appointed sports marketing agency Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment (VWSE) to handle its sponsorship sales and representation.

As part of the agreement, VWSE will represent a number of brand categories for multi-platform sponsorship assets around Breeders’ Cup Limited’s two foremost racing properties.

VWSE will look after the Breeders’ Cup World Championships in November, generally accepted as the most prestigious annual thoroughbred horseracing event in the world. Additionally the agency will work with the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series, which features 85 races, 26 of which are televised on American broadcast network NBC between June and October.

The partnership between Breeders’ Cup Limited and VWSE comprises a number of multiplatform assets, including intellectual property rights, on-site activations and VIP hospitality, commercial media inventory and in-telecast enhancements, with more than 23 hours of coverage scheduled across NBC and NBCSN.

Rem de Rohan, vice president of global sales at VWSE, said: “The team has an exciting four-year strategy of hosting the World Championships at a series of top racetracks and it means a lot to kick off our partnership this year at Churchill Downs.”

Bryan Pettigrew, chief marketing officer of Breeders’ Cup Limited, added: “Over the years, Van Wagner has produced a proven track record of success in delivering first-class sponsorships targeted to the specific needs of its clients and partners.”
