Athletics: The Olympic Channel, the global multi-media platform operated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has secured media rights to the 122nd Boston Marathon.

This year’s race in the US city takes place on Monday and the Olympic Channel will produce live online coverage starting at 2pm BST.

Coverage will be available in select countries in Europe and Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, and Australia and New Zealand at and its mobile apps for Android and iOS devices.

“The Boston Marathon is one of the most anticipated international events within the running community,” said Mark Parkman, general manager of the IOC’s global Olympic Channel. “Marathons are about determination and the triumph of the human spirit, and we are proud to showcase these values which represent the Olympic Spirit to viewers around the world.”

The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest annual marathon and is part of the World Marathon Majors group of six elite road races.

Tennis: Nature Valley has agreed a deal to title sponsor three events organised by UK governing tennis body, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA). The three-year agreement sees the women’s WTA event in Birmingham become known as the Nature Valley Classic. Events in Nottingham and Eastbourne, which form part of the WTA and men’s ATP circuits, will become the Nature Valley Open and Nature Valley International, respectively.

Football: The Arena Football League (AFL) announced new partnerships with DraftKings, Sportradar, Facebook and VSiN in a boost to bid fan engagement. DraftKings come on board to provide fantasy gaming and streaming; Facebook will stream 12 AFL games live on its platform; Sportradar will provide a new stats platform for the AFL to licence to partners; and VSiN will offer league content focused on betting.

Cricket: MY FM and Rajasthan Royals have partnered for the current Indian Premier League season, with the station becoming the franchise's official radio partner.

Motorsport: The World Rallycross Championship (World RX) has extended its partnership with the Woodland Group with the new multi-year deal seeing the company retain its position as the official logistics partner of the series. The series will also air on digital television channel FreeSports in the UK after the network acquired rights to the 2018 season.

Ice hockey: Perform-owned over-the-top (OTT) streaming platform DAZN has bolstered its ice hockey content in Germany and Austria by acquiring rights to Russian competition the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in a two-season deal.

Elsewhere, the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) has extended its deal with SAXOPRINT for a further two years, with the online printing company continuing as the DEB's official printing partner.

Australian rules football: In the Australian state of Victoria, the local government has detailed plans to upgrade Australian Football League (AFL) venues, with Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium to receive a major AU$225 million (€142 million/ US$176 million) revamp and the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to retain hosting rights to the league’s Grand Final on a long-term basis.

Wrestling: The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has introduced new regulations limiting the number of Olympic places available to the nations with the worst doping track record as it continues to try and demonstrate its reformative credentials to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Under the rules, any nation with 20 or more doping violations from 2008 to 2020 will have just one man and one woman competing at the 2020 Tokyo Games. Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Belarus all fall under this banner.
