Bodog announces backing for Copa do Brasil

International online gaming brand Bodog has announced a seven-figure dollar deal to become a top-tier ‘master sponsor’ of the Copa do Brasil.

The competition is the premier club knockout tournament in Brazil and the new partnership is Bodog’s first soccer-based marketing venture in the region.

The sponsorship follows agreements Bodog already has in place in Europe with Premier League clubs Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion.

Sergio Campos, a partner and director at Klefer Sports Marketing, said: “Becoming a master sponsor of Copa Continental do Brazil, opens up Bodog to a huge and relevant audience in the region. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a creative and daring brand like Bodog.”

Bodog spokesman, Ed Pownall, added: “There’s no doubt that the Brazilian market is the ‘next big thing’ in our industry and we wanted to launch our brand into the region with a really big splash and quickly identified the Copa do Brasil as the perfect vehicle.”
