The BBC has acquired the UK radio rights to the upcoming boxing match between undefeated former five-weight world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr and mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Conor McGregor.
UK listeners will be able to hear live commentary from Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Saturday on its Radio 5 Live channel and through its digital platforms. The BBC’s boxing correspondent Mike Costello will be joined by pundit Steve Bunce for coverage of the light-middleweight bout.
Its website will also carry a live text commentary of the ‘Money Fight’, as well as updates from the fighters' press conferences and on the the weigh-in.
Elsewhere, Eleven Sports has acquired the Taiwanese broadcast rights for the 26th August fight. Fans in Taiwan can secure exclusive online access to the promotion, including the full undercard, via a Fight Pass subscription for a one-time payment of NT$199 (US$6.50). Alternatively, an annual pass can be purchased for NT$719 (US$23.70).
