Bayern Munich TV channel set to go live

German soccer club Bayern Munich have launched a linear TV channel.

FC Bayern.tv live is a high-definition channel and will be accessible via broadcaster EntertainTV, as well as on the Bundesliga club's official website and smartphone apps.

The channel has been set up as part of the Bundesliga champions’ strategic partnership with telecommunications provider Deutsche Telekom, and the service will be free for Telekom customers for the first 12 months, though all other customers will be charged €5.95 (US$6.30) per month.

Background reports, talk shows, exclusive interviews and live content, including public training sessions and press conferences, will all be part of the channel’s offering.

Stefan Mennerich, Bayern’s director of media and communication, said: “Carlo Ancelotti's team will be at the centre of attention, but we'll also report on the FC Bayern basketballers, our footballing women, the Bayern reserves, the youth teams and other sections."
