Bayer Leverkusen join German soccer’s solar panel
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have become the latest German soccer club to pair up with a solar energy company, agreeing a three-year deal with Jinko Solar.
As part of their second-tier sponsorship of the club, the Chinese photovoltaic panel manufacturer will have an extensive advertising presence at the BayArena, with branding on two pitchside CamCarpets, TV-visible perimeter hoardings and interview boards. Jinko Solar will also be given access to corporate hospitality facilities and will be able to promote their products at the ground. However, Sponsors.de reports that there will be no supply element to the deal as Leverkusen already have an energy partner in the shape of Energieversorgung Leverkusen, and because it would not be feasible to install photovoltaic panels at the BayArena.
After managing an excellent second-placed finish in the Bundesliga in 2010/11, Bayer Leverkusen will be hoping to go one better when they kick off the new season away to 1. FSV Mainz 05 on 7th August.
