BBC to broadcast Andy Murray’s quest for glory
The 2009 ATP World Tour Finals, the week-long showpiece finale of the ATP World Tour's 2009 season, will be screened live in Britain by public broadcaster BBC in November.
The competition, being played at London's O2 arena for the first time, will feature the top eight singles players and top eight doubles teams in the world. Britain's Andy Murray, the current world number four, is amongst the men already qualified, alongside Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer, Juan Martin Del Potro and Andy Roddick.
The BBC will broadcast one match on the opening day of the tournament, one semi-final and the final. Philip Bernie, BBC Head of TV Sport, commented: "It is very exciting to have such a major tennis event on home soil, and I'm delighted that BBC Sport will be bringing the action and excitement of this tournament for the first time."
