Asics have been named as the new official footwear and apparel sponsor of Cricket Australia.
The new sponsorship will see Asics provide competition and training kit across all formats of the game to both the men’s and women’s national teams in a multi-year deal which will include the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia.
Chief executive of Cricket Australia, James Sutherland, commented: “Asics and Cricket Australia share a number of important philosophies about high performance, growth and success. This common ground is the making of exciting partnership. We are delighted to be announcing an association with Asics, a company globally renowned as being synonymous with high performance."
“Asics cricket shoes have set the standard in performance and quality over the past 10 years and our training and competition kit for the team will deliver the same level of excellence in style, fit and comfort,” said Allan Russell, managing director of Asics Oceania.
"This [partnership] is in line with the strategies we have put in place to achieve the Asics Growth Plan 2015," added the global president and chief executive of Asics, Motoi Oyama.
The Asics logo will appear on the right chest and left sleeve of all limited-overs shirts and left sleeve of the Test match shirt.
Cricket Australia’s previous apparel deal was with Adidas.
