Ashgabat 2017 secures Petronas deal

Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas has become an official partner of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG).

AIMAG 2017, the fifth edition of a quadrennial multi-sport event featuring disciplines ranging from martial arts to swimming to futsal to chess, is being held for the first time in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat from 17th to 27th September. Petronas, which is wholly owned by the government of Malaysia, will have a strong brand presence at all host venues and will work with the organising committee on community projects.

“We are thrilled for Petronas to join us as an official partner of Ashgabat 2017,” said Dayanch Gulgeldiyev, chairman of the fifth AIMAG executive committee. “We are grateful for their support and in line with our core values of health, inspiration and friendship they are committed to inspiring a healthy lifestyle within communities making them a great addition to the Ashgabat 2017 family.”

Petronas, which joins Coca-Cola and LG as a sponsor of AIMAG 2017, recently announced that it will continue as title sponsor of three-time Formula One constructors’ champions Mercedes.
