Top-tier Italian soccer side AS Roma have announced a partnership with Car2go.
The German car rental company will serve as the official mobility sharing partner of the Serie A outfit.
Car2go will aim to promote sustainable mobility options for Roma fans, and will ensure supporters are able to enjoy efficient travel to and from the team’s Stadio Olimpico home ground.
Fans will receive promotional offers when they use the car rental service to attend Roma home matches, while the stadium will provide free parking for Car2go vehicles in dedicated areas.
In addition, Car2go users will be entitled to discounts on Roma merchandise at the team’s official stores. Other discounts and promotions will also be made available on the social media platforms of both entities.
The length and financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
The news comes after Roma signed a partnership with transit application Moovit last week, in an agreement which sees the company provide specific information to fans regarding the fastest and easiest ways to reach the Stadio Olimpico.
‘A partnership [has been] signed in the name of sharing and that fits among the mobility initiatives promoted by the club to make the movements of its supporters more flexible and sustainable,’ Car2go wrote in a statement.
AS Roma are currently fifth in Serie A in 2017/18, after winning 15 of their 26 games so far. They suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of AC Milan on Sunday, and will travel to the Stadio San Paolo to face league leaders Napoli on 3rd March.
