European energy company Areva has extended but downgraded its sponsorship of top-tier German soccer side 1. FC Nürnberg.
The company has stepped down from the shirt sponsorship position and has signed a new deal believed to be worth around €150,000 to the club.
The new deal, brokered by Sportfive, is at the club's third tier of sponsorship and entitles Areva to logo presence on the club's website and at various points around the club's stadium.
According to German sports industry source Sponsors.de, Areva will also keep a corporate box at the club for the one-year duration of the new deal.
