ARD and ZDF procures WTA Finals broadcast rights

Germany's regional public-service broadcasters ARD and ZDF have sub-licensed a selection of matches from the upcoming WTA Finals, the season-ending Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) event, from pay-TV network ProSiebenSat.1.

The deal will mean that all games played by German world number one Angelique Kerber will now be available on the free-to-air channels in her homeland.

The WTA Finals features the top eight ranked female tennis players of the season in a round-robin format, and is played Singapore from 23rd to 30th October. Kerber has enjoyed a stellar 2016, winning both the Australian Open and the US Open, and losing in the final of The Championships, Wimbledon.
