The organising committee for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea has confirmed Scottish firm Aggreko as its temporary power provider.
The company, which has previously worked at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and will also supply temporary power at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, will provide solutions to 18 competition venues in PyeongChang, as well as to the international broadcast centre.
The total value of the contract is expected to be around US$40 million and, as part of the agreement, Aggreko becomes an official sponsor of the Games.
"I am delighted that Aggreko has been appointed the official power provider for the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. We look forward to helping the organising committee deliver another successful games," said Chris Weston, chief executive of Aggreko.
