The French Handball Federation (FFHB) has confirmed a four-year extension of its partnership with kit supplier Adidas.
Under the terms of the agreement, the German sportswear giant will continue to provide playing kits for all French national handball teams until 2021.
The announcement comes a week after Adidas was ousted as the kit manufacturer for France’s rugby union team by French brand Le Coq Sportif.
Guillaume de Monplanet, director of Adidas France, said: “Our responsibility as a leader is to ensure our brand stays in line with our strategy. That is why we are continuing our commitment to the French handball family, on the rooftops of Europe and the world, a true source of inspiration for all sports practitioners.”
Elsewhere in French handball, top-tier club side Paris Saint-Germain have renewed with their longstanding sponsor GFI Informatique Group until 2021.
The deal, which extends a partnership that began in 2012, will see the digital services company’s logo continue to adorn the front of the LNH Star Ligue team’s playing shirts.
Jean-Claude Blanc, deputy managing director of Paris Saint-Germain, said: “With already ten titles won in five seasons, Paris Saint-Germain Handball has quickly become one of the best formations in Europe. We are proud to share these successes with our partner Gfi Informatique and to count on their unwavering support over the long term. Together, we live a strong adventure driven by values of solidarity and excellence.”
Vincent Rouaix, chairman and chief executive of Gfi Informatique, added: “We are very proud to extend our partnership with Paris Saint-Germain Handball until 2021. For the last five years, we have lived through great emotions. Gfi Informatique and the Paris Saint-Germain Handball meet in the spirit of team, the taste of challenge and the desire to move forward.
“More than a brand on a shirt, this partnership, which mobilises the whole company, is a real plus for our customers, our employees and reinforces our notoriety and our employer brand. For all of us, Paris Saint-Germain Handball is more than ever part of the Gfi Informatique family.”
Paris Saint-Germain were crowned champions of the LNH Star Ligue in 2016/17.
