New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has joined National Basketball Association (NBA) star Steph Curry as a global brand ambassador for JBL.
As part of the deal, the right fielder, 26, will become the face of the US audio brand’s content and displays across New York City this summer. JBL has also designed commemorative Aaron Judge custom headphones to celebrate the start of the partnership.
Judge, whose breakthrough season in Major League Baseball (MLB) in 2017 secured him the title of the American League’s rookie of the year, follows in the footsteps of Yankees great Mariano Rivera as an ambassador for JBL, while he joins an athlete roster which includes three-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard and German soccer player Jerome Boateng.
“From training in the weight room to stepping up to bat, music is a must in my routine. I’ve come to rely on JBL’s amazing sound quality - it’s ‘game on’ when you hear the music blasting through JBL speakers at Yankee Stadium,” said Judge.
“Aaron Judge truly embodies JBL. The energy that he brings to everything that he does, both on and off the field, reflects the vibrancy of the brand,” added Ralph Santana, chief marketing officer of Harman, which owns JBL. “There’s a rich history between JBL and the Yankees, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with another rising star on some exciting projects to be announced in the coming months.”
Judge is enjoying another impressive season and is currently tied third for the most home runs in MLB. His Yankees team sit second in the AL East division and will be looking to close the gap on old foes the Boston Red Sox when they face cross-city rivals the New York Mets on Friday.
