New York Mets name communications director
The New York Mets baseball team has appointed Harold Kaufman to the role of executive director, communications.
Kaufman will be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of publicity strategies at the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, and will be club's primary contact for off-field media coverage.
Kaufman, who has more than 25 years of publicity and media relations experience, will join the Mets on 23rd June. He currently works at The Ehrhardt Group, a New Orleans-based public relations and marketing firm, having previously worked for the NBA’s Hornets and the Super Bowl XLVII PR Host Committee.
Kaufman will work closely with the Mets’ media relations group headed by Jay Horwitz. He will report to David Newman, the team’s senior vice president of marketing and communications.
