Peter Hannon has been appointed head of media and communications at Commonwealth Games England.
The 32-year-old joins from elite sports development body UK Sport, where he was a public affairs manager. His previous experience includes a stint as external affairs executive at The Football League, the organising body for the second, third and fourth tiers of English professional club soccer.
"I am hugely excited to be working at Commonwealth Games England and it is a fantastic opportunity," said Hannon.
"It is a fantastic challenge to be part of a great team of people working behind the scenes. The organisation are well-respected for the great job they did at Glasgow 2014."
Hannon joins Commonwealth Games England as it prepares to send teams to this summer’s Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas and to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
