Sports sponsorship consultancy Y Sport has announced that Tatjana Haenni has joined its leadership team.
The former Swiss national soccer player will focus on the expansion and development of the consultancy’s work across women’s sport and international soccer.
Haenni has over 20 years of experience working in international sport, and was head of women’s soccer at Fifa from 1999 to 2017, overseeing the organisation of the Fifa Women’s World Cups in Germany in 2011 and Canada in 2015.
She had moved from playing for Switzerland to a coaching career, before taking senior management and board roles at Uefa and Fifa. She is currently president of FC Zürich Frauen.
Launched in April 2016, Y Sport has a ‘particular belief and interest in the value of women’s sport’.
“We are absolutely delighted that Tatjana is joining our team,” said Sally Horrox, founding partner of Y Sport. “We’ve had a phenomenal first year and Tatjana is a perfect fit in terms of her skills, experience and ability to further strengthen our business, whether that be acting for clubs, leagues, international federations or brand partners. Tatjana also brings a wealth of experience bidding for, creating and delivering major sports events which will complement our existing business.”
Haenni added: “I am very excited to be joining Y Sport, I have a huge amount of respect for Sally Hancock and Sally Horrox and look forward to playing a key role in helping them accelerate the growth of their international business.”
