SponServe, a cloud-based sponsorship management platform, has appointed Charlie Prichard as its first European commercial director.
Prichard joins SponServe from sports research and consulting firm Nielsen Sports, where he spent four years helping to drive the company’s UK business development initiatives.
SponServe, which was set up in Australia in 2015, expanded into Europe 12 months ago. The company’s European business has since been embraced by a third of all Premier League soccer clubs, various national governing bodies, and a number of other clients within Formula One, cricket, motorsport and rugby union.
“It’s very rare that a solution that is brand new to the market has had such an overwhelmingly positive reception and widespread impact,” said Prichard. “I’ve been fortunate to witness SponServe’s remarkable entry at close quarters, and the excitement and relief that they’ve generated in all of their conversations is testimony to a service that only someone who’s experienced such challenges could develop.
“With rights holders, brands and agencies all having a myriad of administrative and logistical pain points that until now have seemingly had to be accepted, the potential to revolutionise how they each operate is phenomenally exciting.”
Mark Thompson, SponServe’s managing director and co-founder, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Charlie to the business to build on the fantastic work that our colleague, Alex Hay, has done in establishing ourselves in Europe. Charlie’s exceptional understanding of the sponsorship landscape will not only help our clients achieve greater commercial success, but will also ensure that we as a business are at the heart of advocating industry best practice.”
