Bundesliga International, the newly created body which will merge the German soccer league's international sales and marketing activities, has appointed Robert Klein as its first chief commercial officer.
Klein will begin work on 1st May, readying the organisation for its official launch on 1st July. Bundesliga International is a wholly owned subsidiary of the German Footbal League (DFL), and will incorporate its former DFL Sports Enterprises division.
Klein's goal will be to oversee the ongoing international growth of Germany's top two professional soccer leagues, with responsibility for sales and marketing.
He was most recently head of global media rights at Red Bull Media House, where he was in charge of the acquisition and sales of sports properties and for the worldwide distribution of Red Bull-owned properties.
Prior to this, Klein had served as executive director at International Sports Multimedia (ISM), and as a member of Uefa's new media team, where he worked for six years.
