Phil Lines joins Lagardere Unlimited

Former English Premier League media executive Phil Lines has joined Lagardere Unlimited as Head of Media activities for Europe and Africa.

In his new role, Lines will report to Alain Lemarchand, chief operating officer for the region.

Lines played a key role in the growth of the Premier League's overseas broadcast rights values following his arrival in 2002, before joining CAA Sports in April 2010.

Following the apparent disintegration of the Amercian agency's ambitions for the European sports market, with key executives Peter Kenyon and Philippe Le Floc'h leaving in October last year, Lines himself left CAA Sports on 10th February.

Lagardere Unlimited-owned agencies Sportfive and IEC in Sports will fall within Lines' new remit.

"I am joining at a very exciting time," said Lines. "Lagardere Unlimited is a major force in sports media and I have been very impressed by the company's ambition and determination. I look forward to adding my experience to the team."
