International sports marketing agency Octagon has restructured its European leadership team, with new roles for senior executives Sebastian Smith and Joel Seymour-Hyde.
Smith, who joined the company as an executive vice president in January 2015 having previously worked at the IMG agency for over a decade across various sponsorship and consulting roles, will lead all marketing and business development across Europe. He will focus on developing Octagon’s brand and business across the continent, working with market heads in the UK, Germany, Spain and France.
Meanwhile, Seymour-Hyde, who has served as a senior vice president at Octagon since 2007, has been appointed as the new head of UK business.
His role will involve leading the day-to-day management of Octagon’s UK business, as well as continuing to oversee the accounts of domestic clients including American food manufacturer Mars Inc and technology giant Sony Mobile.
Seymour-Hyde will work alongside Liza Durge, who was appointed head of client services at Octagon UK in January, to develop the company’s relationships with leading brands in the country.
Both new appointments will continue to be based at the agency’s London office and will report to Jeff Ehrenkranz, the president of Octagon Marketing International.
Ehrenkranz said: “The leadership, relentless drive and industry expertise that Sebastian and Joel have demonstrated has been vital to the growth of the agency in the UK and across the region. Joel and Sebastian have been at the forefront of a drive to build our creative offering and deliver work that earns attention for our clients.”
