Jan Thelen has been appointed as director of business relations for the sports research and consulting firm Nielsen Sports.
The 35-year-old, who has served as head of sponsorship for German Bundesliga soccer outfit SV Werder Bremen for the past three years, will report to Laris Stegelmann, the executive vice president of commercial operations at Nielsen Sports.
Thelen previously worked for sports marketing company Lagardère Sports - then Sportfive - where he oversaw marketing strategies for Bundesliga clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and Eintracht Braunschweig.
