The Vegas Golden Knights have hired Brian Killingsworth as their new senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
Killingsworth, 40, will oversee the National Hockey League (NHL) expansion franchise’s marketing and branding efforts locally and internationally.
He joins the Golden Knights having spent the past two seasons as chief marketing officer at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL).
Prior to that role, Killingsworth led the marketing department at the St. Louis Rams for three seasons and spent a decade with Major League Baseball's (MLB) Tampa Bay Rays.
"We are thrilled to welcome Brian to the Vegas Golden Knights family," said Golden Knights president Kerry Bubolz.
"Brian possesses an impressive marketing background highlighted by successful tenures in both the National Football League and Major League Baseball. His creativity, strategic thinking and overall vision will help drive our business forward and take our marketing efforts to new heights.”
Killingsworth replaces Nehme Abouzeid, who left the Golden Knights at the end of June after just seven months in the role. Abouzeid, who previously worked at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel and casino resort, left to establish his own business consultancy, LaunchVegas.
As well as leading the Golden Knights’ marketing operation, Killingsworth will also work to cross-promote the wineries and resort properties operated by the team’s owner, Bill Foley.
