Netball Australia appoint Marne Fechner as deputy CEO

Marne Fechner has been appointed to the newly created role of deputy chief executive of Netball Australia, after having served as the chief executive of the 2015 Netball World Cup which was held in the country in August.

Fechner will oversee Netball Australia's commercial, marketing, communications and events departments. Prior to her role organising the World Cup, Fechner was head of commercial at the governing body since 2007 and was responsible for building the sport's profile in the country.

Netball Australia’s chief executive, Kate Palmer, said of Fechner’s appointment: “Marne brings a wealth of knowledge to the role and will be responsible for strategic leadership and direction of the organisation’s new and exciting business division as the sport capitalises on the legacy of the Netball World Cup.”
