Major League Baseball (MLB) has promoted Uzma Rawn to the position of group director and vice president of sponsorship sales.
Rawn, who joined MLB in 2015 as senior director of sponsorship sales, will replace Jim McCloud, who vacated the role last month.
Reporting to Bill Morningstar, MLB’s senior vice president of sponsorship sales, Rawn will lead the team responsible for securing new sponsorship agreements and renewing official league partnerships.
During her time at MLB, Rawn has already negotiated high-level sponsorship deals with the likes of Coca-Cola, Nathan’s Famous, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and YouTube TV.
Prior to her time with MLB, Rawn worked at Premier Partnerships where she secured agreements for various MLB and National Basketball Association (NBA) teams. She also spent four years at the NBA in the league’s team marketing and business operations group.
“Uzma has played an important role in developing new MLB sponsorships that have given fans more ways to enjoy baseball, expanded our promotional opportunities and grown our business,” said Noah Garden, MLB’s executive vice president of commerce. “Uzma’s energy, knowledge, creativity and partner-friendly approach will continue to enable our sponsors to reach baseball fans with powerful and innovative MLB-themed promotions.”
