Digital agency LiveWire Sport has named Tom Chick as its new head of strategy.
Previously head of social media for World Rugby, Chick has been working as a consultant for LiveWire Sport since 2015, taking on a key role in helping the company deliver its consultancy services for sports organisations, including rugby union’s British and Irish Lions, tennis’ ATP and English soccer champions Chelsea.
Chick left World Rugby to establish his own agency, Wired Social, which works with a number of global sports organisations and brands, including financial services company HSBC, European soccer’s governing body Uefa, and Google.
Commenting on his appointment, Chick said: “I’m delighted to take up this new role with LiveWire. They have an exceptional array of major clients and possess some of the most creative and innovative people in the industry.
“Having previously worked with them during my time with World Rugby, I’m relishing the opportunity to lead their digital strategy and drive further growth for the business.”
LiveWire Sport director Andy McKenzie added: “We’re very excited that Tom will be taking on this hugely important role. Tom has an in-depth knowledge and passion for digital sport and we have already seen what a huge asset he is with the work he has done for some of our key clients.
“We’re looking forward to him helping us to continue to develop the services we provide to the global sports industry.”
