Australian rules football side the Carlton Football Club have named Cain Liddle as their new chief executive.
Liddle joins The Blues from rival Australian Football League (AFL) team Richmond Football Club, where he had been general manager of consumer business since 2010. The Australian begins his new role with Carlton on 13th November.
“He [Liddle] brings a wealth of commercial and consumer experience and we believe he is the ideal candidate that will be integral in leading the club to its next level of success,” said Mark LoGiudice, president of Carlton.
Liddle, added: “The Carlton Football Club is a proud organisation with a significantly rich history, and a very exciting future.
“To be given the opportunity to work with such a talented team both on and off the field, who are united in their determination to deliver Carlton members sustained success across both the male and female competitions, is an opportunity for which I am extremely grateful.”
Liddle has completed a master of business administration and this year completed the Australian Institute of company directors course. He is also currently enrolled in a doctorate of business.
