Sports data and intelligence company STATS has announced the appointment of Carl Mergele as its new chief executive.
The technology veteran joins the Chicago-based firm having previously led several major software companies, including Lexmark International, and having sat on the board of nearly two-dozen corporations.
He replaces Kenneth Fuchs, who had led STATS since November 2015.
“I am thrilled to be joining the STATS team,” said Mergele. “My commitment as CEO is to focus on providing the best products and service to our customers.
“STATS has the best and broadest sports data and insights in the world, and we will continue to improve and expand our offerings to guarantee our customers have the tools and knowledge they depend on.”
A pioneer in the live sports data sector, STATS provides data solutions and related services to a host of sports organisations worldwide, and is widely known for its STATS SportVU player tracking software.
