Briegal to lead International Netball Federation

Clare Briegal has been appointed as the chief executive of the International Netball Federation (INF) on a permanent basis.

The Briton has been serving as the INF’s interim chief executive for the past four months following the departure of former chief executive Urvasi Naidoo, and had spent nine months in the role prior to that covering maternity leave.

Briegal’s professional career has included senior sales and marketing roles with ICI Acrylics and Twyford Bathrooms. She holds an MBA from Manchester Business School.

Briegal said: “I am looking forward to the challenge of driving netball forward, building its profile and welcoming new partners and sponsors to further strengthen our sport.

“With our innovative grassroots development programme and our finest teams and players competing at the Commonwealth Games this year in Glasgow, and the Netball World Cup in Sydney in 2015, there has never been a better time to be involved with the world’s number one women’s team sport.”
