Alexander Wölffing is the new motorsport director of 7Sports, the sports business unit of German mass media company ProSiebenSat1.
The role of motorsport director has been specially created by 7Sports to manage all 20 live broadcasts of German Touring Car Masters (DTM) series on ProSiebenSat1.
Wölffing, 47, will join 7Sports from rival German television channel Sport1 on 1st March, when he will report to Alexander Rösner, the company’s head of sport. His responsibilities at Sport1 will be taken on by Thomas Kraus and Michael Langkau.
Wölffing has been at Sport1 since 1995, during which time he was mainly responsible for motorsport, handball and darts, and held various positions including deputy editor-in-chief, head of sports and head of motorsport.
