Much to the chagrin of Yaya Toure, the flamboyant and ever-smiling Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang is the current African Player of the Year and the first Gabonese soccer player to ever win the award.

With a bold Mohican haircut to rival a 1970s punk-rocker, Aubemayang is one of the most recognisable characters in the soccer sphere. The striker is as famous for his wacky post-goal celebrations, which have included acrobatics and wearing super-hero masks, as he is for finding the back of the net – which he has done with great regularity over the past two seasons with Borussia Dortmund, one of Europe’s most exciting club sides.
