Legacy Lives, London

03 March 2010

Legacy Lives is back and it’s returning to London. It is the only international conference to focus on the legacy benefits that can and should be created by bidding for and hosting major sporting events.

Now firmly established in the annual conference calendar, Legacy Lives is the ‘must attend’ event for everyone involved in the major events arena.

Sporting events can be major catalysts for change and this conference helps you find out how and why.

- What positive impacts will bidding bring to our city?
- How do we ensure that we deliver legacy benefits before, during and long after our event?
- How do we put economic, social and environmental sustainability at the core of our planning?
- When and how can we create long term benefits across sport, the economy, tourism, business, education, social and community empowerment, the environment and culture?
- What best practice examples can we learn from?

Delegates will represent bidding cities and cities considering the merits of a future bid; National Olympic Committees; Local Organising Committees; major event rights holders; International Federations; local authorities and Regional Development Agencies throughout the UK; and numerous important contributors to the world of sport and major events including the leading global firms working in this sector including consultants, architects, master planners, transport planners and security experts.

All delegates will have the opportunity to take a tour of the London Olympic Park and see a bit of history in the making.
