International Women’s Sports Day , Zambia
In line with International Women’s Day celebrated on 8th March, we are getting ready to celebrate women’s engagement in sport and their right to recreation on Saturday, March 6th, 2010.
Once again, one of the largest women’s sports festivals in the region is in the planning phase and you have the chance to be involved. NOWSPAR invites you to participate by hosting your own Women’s Sports Day.
You are invited to hold a Women’s Sports Day event - events are as diverse in nature as they are in size ranging from multi-sport festivals, races, tournaments to online chess games and domestic checkers and one on one basketball.
Events are held on or around Saturday 6th March 2010, events may go on until 30th March.
Events are held in local communities and countries and organised to suit the environment, the common thread in our Sports Day are the theme, the commitment to women’s empowerment in and through sport.
The event recognises and celebrates the achievements of girls and women in sports, and to encourage all females to participate in sports and fitness activities.
It is an advocacy platform to add our voice and show your action towards women’s human rights and Millennium Development Goal of gender equality.
Participation is open to all worldwide; corporate groups, national sports associations, education institutions, health institutions, NGOs and UN institutions.
