Founded in 1992, Presteigne Charter is a highly respected and experienced global broadcast hire company. To best serve our customers, we constantly assess and renew our massive equipment inventory. Live sports broadcasting
Working with major broadcasters, we facilitate the broadcast requirements for the largest sporting events in the world ranging from the 2012 Roland Garros French Open Tennis coverage for the Tennis Channel, to the Euro 2012 matches. We are also proud to have been involved in both the summer and winter Olympics, the Red Bull Air Race Series, the FIFA World Cup, the IRB Rugby World Cup and Wimbledon.
Project Solutions
Many sporting events require complex planning to ensure live broadcasts air without any issues. Presteigne Charter has 20 years experience in listening to your requirements and then using our expertise to ensure the transmissions are seamless and without incident. Recent projects include: the sporting events in London, starting on 27th July this year; Americas Cup, Wimbledon and the Alpari World Match Racing Tour which provides the sort of multi-site challenge our staff relish.
RF
Our RF department was launched in 2003 and, in 2006, we acquired MVS, enabling us to add to our range of services. Today, our RF department can provide a systems approach to jobs, with integration into our Projects team. Our experienced RF engineers can offer a bespoke and personalised service, where we can build scalable, flexible systems to suit our clients’ needs.
We have supplied complex audio solutions to diverse events all over the world including high power microphone links to the World Match Tour and solutions for the Americas Cup. We have supplied RF for: the Canary Wharf Triathlon, Singapore Marathon, Carling Cup and Premier League Football, amongst many other diverse sporting events.
Dry Hire
Through our Hire Division we provide a comprehensive, professional service based on product quality and engineering expertise. Fully qualified engineers prep our equipment, ensuring the highest standards are achieved. Our global offices are selected for their close proximity to airports, and excellent road and rail links, and we can rapidly and safely despatch kit to any corner of the world in our specialist flight cases.
3D
Presteigne Charter recognised the potential of 3D, particularly for sporting events, when the technology was still relatively new to the industry. Being early adopters, we have the confidence, born of experience, to deal with even the most complex s3D broadcast requirements. We have developed our very own unique wireless portable camera channel, built specifically for s3D, the PC-RT1000. We have provided 3D solutions for prestigious events such as: Rugby League, Rugby Union, Premier League Football and the Ryder Cup and believe that this extra dimension draws further enhances the viewing experience.
EVS Server Technology
Our investment in EVS server technology means we’ve been able to design, build, commission and guarantee systems for large-scale world sporting events such as the French Open Tennis at Roland Garros, the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and the Beijing Olympics. Our tapeless broadcast facility allows producers, editors and on-air operators instant access of materials, seconds after it has been recorded and transferred in HD at six times real time.
Meeting Every Challenge
Live broadcast means no second chances; with this philosophy, we match the appropriate people and equipment to the special demands of each project. For example, when working on the Formula One Grand Prix, we supplied a complete flypack solution to the client’s specification and took responsibility for rigging, operating, de-rigging and changing locations from one country to another to the tightest of schedules. When we were contracted to provide RF and camera systems for live event coverage on the Monsoon Cup Malaysia, we used our experience to anticipate and allow for challenging weather conditions and our expertise to manage the considerable technical challenges. Wireless camera systems and transmitters for point-to-point links ensured successful local broadcasting.
