Wasps will play matches at Twickenham in celebration of St George's Day for the next three years, after signing an agreement with the home of English rugby.

The first game, which will see Wasps take on Bath in the Guinness Premiership, will be played on 24 April next year, the day after St George's Day.

Wasps are hoping the match proves to be as successful as Harlequins' Christmas match at the ground, which is this year expected to attract more than 80,000 fans in a sell-out crowd, and saw 50,000 attend last season.

Wasps will donate at least £1 per ticket to the Help for Heroes charity, which supports injured members of the armed forces.

"It is important that our supporters know that it is not our ambition to follow the trend of moving game after game to bigger venues," Wasps owner Steve Hayes told the BBC. "Adams Park is our home and given our record to date I know that our fans and players enjoy the matchday here.

"This is a special occasion and I want our supporters to enjoy that variety and excitement."
