Volkswagen and Bundesliga soccer club Werder Bremen have extended their sponsorship agreement for another two years after the initial deal was deemed a success.

Volkswagen will continue to be the Bundesliga club's exclusive automobile partner under the motto 'Passion that moves'. Werder Bremen are currently challenging at the top of the German top flight.

"Our commitment to Werder Bremen was received with an enormously high acceptance and positive reaction from the start by the players, the fans and our salesmen and customers in the region. I am happy that we have extended the successful partnership with Werder Bremen for two additional years," said Detlef Wittig, Volkswagen AG corporate sales director.

Klaus Allofs, chairman of Werder Bremen's board of directors, added: "The premature contract extension with our partner Volkswagen shows clearly the significance of this cooperation. We are looking forward to working two more years with those from Wolfsburg."
