The US Bobsled and Skeleton Federation has signed a two-year deal with Nucap Medical of Toronto, makers of SpiderTech kinesiology and therapeutic tape, marking the first sponsorship for a US national governing sporting body.
"We are proud to be the newest sponsor of US Bobsled and Skeleton. They are one of the top US teams heading into the Vancouver Games, a team that is competition-tough, and we love to see our products on the world's best athletes," said Bill Payne, vice president of marketing for Nucap Medical, the parent company of SpiderTech.
"We believe that having SpiderTech integrated into the team's training and therapy regimens will help bring them one extra step closer to their dreams of standing on the podium next month, and will work with them in any way necessary to help that happen."
In addition to providing athletes with the sporting tape, Nucap physicians will also be on hand to provide support to athletes during off season training.
"This is more than a sponsorship," said USBSF chief executive Darrin Steele. "We are integrating Nucap Medical's technology and insight into sports performance beginning with the run- up and through the Vancouver Games. With the type of training our athletes do, Nucap's medical breakthroughs will undoubtedly create a competitive advantage both on the field and in recuperation."
SpiderTech is known for its patented 'pre-cut kinesiology tape applications' that provide advanced therapeutic and competitive support for all level of athletes.
