LED screen supplier Daktronics will upgrade several athletic venues at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with integrated scoring and video display systems.
The upgrade is part of UAB athletic department’s extended 10-year relationship with ISP Sports, the exclusive multimedia and advertising rights holder for Blazer athletics.
Bartow Arena, homes to the Blazer's men's and women's basketball and volleyball, baseball's Young Memorial Field and the new on-campus softball complex will be fitted with LED video displays, scoreboards and sponsor panels. The video equipment will be operated by a new mobile truck unit that will provide live game production and instant replay capabilities to also be used at UAB home football games.
“The new boards will definitely enhance our fans’ gameday experience,” said UAB athletic director Brian Mackin. “I think our student athletes will take a lot of pride in the enhancements of our facilities and I know our coaches will do the same. We want to put an emphasis on improving our athletic venues and this project is a major step in the right direction.”
